Zoe’s baby was born the day before Zoe’s 17th birthday; 2 years ago. They live together in hostel accommodation on the outskirts of a village, waiting to be rehoused. Zoe’s friends live in Winchester and enjoy a teenager’s lifestyle. Zoe’s Social Worker referred her to Home-Start at the time that Social Services were withdrawing their support. Zoe is trying really hard to be a good parent, she loves her son dearly and wants to do all the right things for him. However, she is lonely in the hostel. She doesn’t get on with her neighbours and she is envious of her teenage friends and their lifestyle. She hopes to move in the next few months to permanent accommodation so feels it’s hardly worth getting to know people around here anyway. "I have found Home-Start to be the help I needed to get me back on feet. I have realised that I am not alone and there are many of us experiencing all kinds of difficulties." |
