Chris and Craig are exhausted trying to meet the demands of their 2
young children. Daisy is 3 and having cerebral palsy means she can’t
walk. Baby Chloe is teething so not sleeping well. They have to carry
both children everywhere.
As Craig is self-employed he has the opportunity to work at home sometimes or work flexible hours to fit around clinic appointments. Even so, it falls to Chris to provide the main care of their 2 children and undertake physiotherapy sessions with Daisy. Both parents are exhausted trying to do all the things they need to do, every day, every week without a break. Now that Chloe is becoming mobile things are getting even more difficult. "My children’s health problems are never a problem for Home-Start, I never feel judged. My volunteer gives me a chance to have a shower, wash my hair and shave my legs! I feel human again." |
