Jayne has been matched with a single mother of five children aged 0 - 15 years. As an army wife Jayne has often experienced a life similar to that of a single parent, so can readily identify with the family’s difficulties. ‘Seeing how Kate struggles and copes with life’s everyday challenges really puts life into perspective for me and is a welcome change to counting the number of beds available in a hospital ward!			Jenny was matched with a family who didn’t need her help during the school holidays. Their own granny was a teacher and was usually able to be with them when Jenny couldn’t be. During term time she visited them weekly offering friendship, support and practical help.
LUCY has been with Home-Start for 6 years and has provided support to 11 different families during that time. A pregnant mother with a broken leg needed someone to wear out her very active 3 year old; but only for a few weeks until her leg came out of plaster. A mother undergoing radio- and chemo-therapy needed help with her children for the few days following treatment, each month.
